MY  WORK

I love telling stories; I use words to find magic in the mundane, and I'm drawn to human interest pieces, as well as anything that requires a little digging to extract the extraordinary.

I am a journalist at heart, and, because of my natural curiosity, I tend to be interested in all sorts of topics. The subjects I've covered range from train-surfing to Scientology; corrective rape to Saxonwold's dog walkers.

WHAT I DO

As a freelancer I have been published in the likes of Marie Claire, The Sunday Times, The Cape Times, LFI, Sawubona Magazine, British Airways' High Life Magazine, and the Mail & Guardian, among others.

I've won two Silver awards for best arts writer (in reviews category) at the BASA/National Arts journalism awards.

By day, I'm a grammar nazi and word wrangler for a women's interest magazine.
